How Roofing and Insurance Claims Typically Work

When roof damage is related to a covered event, the process generally follows a few key steps. While every claim is different, this overview helps homeowners understand what to expect.

  • A roof inspection is performed to document visible damage
  • An insurance claim may be filed by the homeowner
  • An insurance adjuster evaluates the damage and determines coverage
  • Roofing repairs or replacement are completed once approved

Ridge Master Roofing supports this process by providing accurate roof inspections, clear documentation, and professional roofing services.

How We Handle Claims

We do not file insurance claims or make coverage decisions. Instead, we support homeowners by focusing on what we do best — roofing.

Our role may include:

  • Performing a detailed roof inspection
  • Documenting visible roof damage and conditions
  • Coordinating inspections when requested
  • Reviewing observed roof damage with the insurance adjuster
  • Completing approved roof repairs or replacements

This approach helps ensure the roofing scope is clearly understood while keeping homeowners informed throughout the process.

To keep expectations clear, it’s important to understand our role.

We do:

  • Inspect and document roof damage
  • Coordinate roofing inspections
  • Communicate observed roof conditions
  • Complete professional roofing work

We do not:

  • File insurance claims
  • Interpret insurance policy coverage
  • Guarantee claim outcomes

Coverage decisions are made by the insurance provider. Our focus remains on delivering quality roofing services.

Common Questions

How do I know if my roof has damage?

After a large storm event that contained wind or hail, call the professionals at Ridge Master Roofing for your complimentary, professional property inspection. We will perform a ground level inspection to check your window screens, siding, and gutter systems for collateral damage. We will then inspect your entire roof checking for dents in metal components such as vents or rain caps. We also check for curled, creased, or torn shingles due to wind damage. We will also inspect  your attic space to make sure there are no leaks. We will provide you with video and photo documentation of any damage we may or may not have discovered.

Will insurance cover the cost of repairs?

A Ridge Master Roofing Associate will help determine if you have enough damage to file a claim or not. We don't want you to increase your rates or run the risk of being dropped by your insurance company due to denied claims. We will also determine if the damage is more or less than what your deductible would cover.

How soon should I schedule an inspection after a storm?

If you have an active leak, you need to call Ridge Master Roofing immediately. It is always a great idea to call after any major storm event. We have professional residential Project Managers, including the owner, that can arrive at your property quickly to efficiently perform inspections or repairs to minimize further damage.
